Veliucionys socialization centre children awarded “One Team” diplomas by basketball club “Rytas”

“Youth Can” Veliucionys socialization centre team was awarded diplomas by basketball club “Rytas” players during halftime of their final basketball game at Rytas home arena in Vilnius.

Overall ten sessions of basketball club “Rytas” trainings with the Veliucionys socialisation centre children took place as part of the Euroleague Basketball’s social responsibility program “One Team”. “Rytas” players not only trained together, but also engaged in discussions with the children on social issues and responsibilities. In addition, the children were invited to see “Rytas” play a Euroleague match live at Siemens arena.

“It was my fourth season in “One Team” project and I can firmly say that this year was the best so far. Every activity was truly inspiring in terms of the people we met, topics we discussed and knowledge we gained. To our kids, the involvement and dedication of basketball club “Rytas” is so important in creating a safe space for them to speak up, learn, discuss and play as a team. ” – said “Youth Can” program manager Arminas Vareika.
